Another year of Ching Ming to, spring rains, moistening the earth, but also evoked a strong sense of nostalgia. This year’s Qingming, in my case, has a different meaning. As a charitable member of Jiangxi Pingxiang Chamber of Commerce in Guangdong Province, I organized my colleagues to return to my hometown of Pingxiang to carry out a warm “Spring Breeze School” activities.
The landscape of our hometown was still the same, and the familiar accent lingered in our ears. We do not care about the travel fatigue, then non-stop into the visit. Into the poor students’ families, the poor living environment is heartbreaking. Under the dim light, the children were studying seriously in front of the worn-out desks, with the desire for knowledge flashing in their eyes. They may face the risk of dropping out of school due to the economic difficulties of their families; or due to the illness of their family members, the burden of life is pressed on their young shoulders too early.
We send scholarships to these children, which is not only a sum of money, but also a hope and a strength. I took the children’s hands and sincerely encouraged them: “Children, study hard, knowledge changes destiny. Your hometown has raised you, in the future, when you have the ability, you must come back to build your hometown and return to society.” The children nodded their heads vigorously, with tears in their eyes, which were touched by the care they received and their firm belief in the future.
This activity made me deeply realize the power of charity. It is like a beam of light that can penetrate the darkness and illuminate the children’s way forward. I would like to call on more people to participate in charity. Perhaps a small piece of your love can change the fate of a child, so that they have the opportunity to pursue their dreams, so that society becomes warmer and better. Let’s work together, with love to weave a warm net to cover the dreams of those in trouble, to help more children towards a bright future, so that the spring breeze of charity blowing in every corner.
